Our Team

Pastor Ty Barksdale has served in ministry nearly his entire teen and adult life and has been an ordained pastor since early 2016. His calling is rooted in a passion to teach and lead the people of God in the things of God.
Pastor Ty holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Geology from California State University, Bakersfield, as well as a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He continues his education through post-graduate studies, always seeking to grow deeper in biblical knowledge and pastoral leadership. Before entering full-time ministry, Ty worked in engineering—specializing in geomatics within the mechanical, civil, and structural world of oil and gas, land surveying, subsurface utilities, and other emerging industries. This background shaped his appreciation for both precision and problem-solving, qualities he now carries into pastoral leadership.
Pastor Ty and his wife, Tracey, have enjoyed over 16 years of marriage. Tracey is a high school English teacher, and together they are blessed with three children: Claire (15), Luke (14), and Ellie (12). Family is at the heart of Pastor Ty’s life and ministry, and when he is not serving the church, he is dedicated to his first and most important ministry—his home.
Outside of ministry, Ty enjoys fishing, hunting, science, working out, and especially cooking for those he loves. His favorite times are spent with Tracey and their kids, whether at home, outdoors, or simply sharing a meal together.
At Northside Baptist Church, Pastor Ty’s vision is to see believers equipped to live out their faith with courage and compassion, the church united in love, and the community reached with the hope of the gospel.
